Contractor/Architect Specifications for Pre-cut Sauna Kits

Contractor Pre-cut Room Requirements PRE-CUT ROOM REQUIRES:
  • Framing – Walls and ceiling shall be of dry Douglas Fir, 16" center.

  • Ceiling – Height shall be 7’0" from finished floor to ceiling joist (16” center).

  • Door – Rough opening for door shall be 26" X 82", and must open out (Rough Opening Laatu Series door must be 27 ½” x 82 ¼", and must open out).

  • Wall mounted heater models must be adequately supported to actual or adjacent wall studs.

  • Insulation – Walls and ceiling shall be of R11 foil faced fiberglass batts; R19 is suggested for saunas outdoor.

  • Flooring – Floor must be of a mopable surface – concrete, tile, or heavy vinyl.

  • Floor drain – recommended for commercial or public saunas.

  • Vents – One near the heater and the other near the ceiling of sauna benches.

  • Light – Can be wall mounted anywhere in room; needs wiring for 75 watts needs single exterior switch unless sauna heater control panel includes one.
