Question: Do electric sauna heaters plug in?
Answer: No, all sauna heaters need to be hardwired by an electrician.

Question: Can you pour water over an electric sauna heater?
Answer: Some sauna heaters are more conducive to pour water over but most heaters allow for water to be poured over the rocks.

Question: Can you preset heaters to turn on when I am not here?
Answer: Yes, some saunas are designed to be preset for up to eight hours ahead. When the time comes due, the heater will operate for 60 minutes and shut off. Further operation of the sauna heater must be done by the sauna user at this time.

Question: Why can't I have an 8 foot ceiling or higher?
Answer: It's important to reduce your sauna room height from a standard ceiling height of 8' to a sauna room norm of 7' from the finished floor. (Sauna ceilings can also be as low as 6'2".) An 8' ceiling wastes heat, energy and building material; and it increases your heat up time making it longer to attain a premium heat. The diagram below submitted by one our manufacturers explains the varience of temperature at various levels in a Sauna room at 8 feet and 7 feet.

ceiling height

As you can see the importance of lowering the ceiling height from 8' to 7' shows in the room temperature being 20 degrees cooler at the upper bench level and at the bather's head level in the sauna with the improper 8' ceiling height. As the heat rises from floor to ceiling, there is too much wasted heat at the upper ceiling level and not enough heat at the bench levels where the bathers sit or lie.
