Question: Which sauna kit is the best?
Answer: All of our kits are of excellent quality but one might be best for your needs.

Question: What is the best wood to use for a sauna?
Answer: Western Red Cedar is the most natuarally resistant to mold, rot, and insects.

Question: What do I need to consider when laying out a sauna?
Answer: All saunas are custom cut to your specifications, you are only bound by the space you have to work with and clearance needed for the heater.

Question: What is the height required for the sauna?
Answer: The heaters are intended for rooms that are seven feet high.

Question: What is the difference between Pre-Built and Pre-Cut?
Answer: Pre-Builts are modular units that would take a few hours to assemble. Pre-Cuts (sometimes called custom cuts) usually require a handier installer such as a contractor or finish carpenter. You would be responsible for framing and insulating the room before installing the materials of a pre-cut kit.

Question: How do I know which size heater to buy for my sauna?
Answer: Sizing the sauna heater correctly is very important to obtain proper performance for your sauna. Generally you'll want to start by figuring the cubic volume of your room (cubic feet is how we measure). Cubic volume is obtained by taking the l x w x h (length x width x height) of your sauna. It is important that your sauna ceiling height is within the minimum/maximum requirements for safety and reliability. The ceiling height range is typically between 6' 2" minimum and 8' 0" maximum. ***NOTE: It is always best to double check each brand of heaters installation guide to verify the minimum/maximum requirements - PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT OUR SAUNA EXPERTS FOR FURTHER CONSULTATION***

Question: Can you put water on the Rocks?
Answer: Yes, putting water on the rocks is part of a true sauna experience. All of our traditional sauna heaters are capable of taking a ladle of water per minute when heated to its optimum temperature. A true traditional sauna offers the bather the option to choose if they want a moist (steam) environment or dry – all you have to do is choose to add water or not add water. It is all up to the bather – this is why the traditional sauna offers such a unique bathing experience.

Question: What is the difference between built-in and externally mounted controls for a sauna heater?
Answer: The control location is more a matter of convenience. A built-in control simply means that the controls are located directly on the heater and may required the user to bend over to use/adjust the controls for the heater. Externally mounted controls allow the user to place the control in a more convenient location outside of the sauna close to eye level or to the users preference. Both types of controls function equal but allow for the user to choose to their preferred location.

Question: How large are sauna heaters?
Answer: Each brand offers a number of different styles and models to choose from all with different dimensions. Generally a heaters size is going to be determined by the room size. Also, each heater has clearance requirements to meet for safety (refer to owners manual for more detail) so you’ll need to take into consideration the clearance requirements in addition to the heaters actual dimensions. These two measurements may effect where the heater can or cannot be located within a sauna and can have an effect on the bench layout and door location. Keep this in mind.
